Top 5 best spies in the movies

Everybody loves to watch a good spy movie. It’s great to just lose yourself in the mad action and adventure, and imagine what it would be like if you could really have all those cool spy gadgets and drive around in one of those amazing customised cars. Here are five of the best movie spies, and the reasons we love them so much.

5. Austin Powers (Mike Myers, the Austin Powers trilogy)

Austin Powers is the ultimate James Bond spoof, mixed with a bit of bizarre 60s eccentricity and a whole lot of ‘mojo’. He thinks he is the essence of spy-movie cool, and is oblivious to the fact that he’s really nothing but a funny, if slightly disturbing, parody. As for gadgets, if it’s possible to imagine it, Austin Powers probably has it. Forget hidden cameras, tiny guns and secret voice recorders. Here we have giant ‘death star’ lasers meant for blowing up the planet, ‘fembots’ with machine guns in their nipples and even a time travelling car!

4. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise, Mission Impossible)

In his quest to prove he is innocent of the murder of the rest of his team, Tom Cruise’s Hunt proves himself to be the perfect sleek, efficient secret agent. He has the right skills, the gadgets (including camera-glasses, exploding chewing gum, and who could forget those awesome masks!) and that annoying ability to get through anything, including a spectacular high-speed chase involving a train, a helicopter and the channel tunnel… and still look picture-perfect at the end of it all.

3. Charlie’s Angels (Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, Charlie’s Angels)

These three femmes fatales are the ultimate team of spies. Working for the mysterious Charlie and with the help of his assistant, they go around fighting crime and, well, kicking ass. They may seem all sweetness and innocence but when these girls get angry, you really wouldn’t want to be on their wrong side. And with the help of Charlie’s technological genius (they can plant voice recorders and trackers in people’s teeth!) there is really no stopping them.

2. James Bond

An incomparable movie spy who needs no introduction. Bond, in his many guises, sets the standard for spy films in every way. He’s suave, sophisticated and has the use of what seems to be a neverending arsenal of inconceivable gadgets and awesome cars. And of course, he somehow always finds time to get the girl!

1. Jason Bourne (Matt Damon, the Bourne trilogy)

Bourne is perhaps the coolest spy of them all. After waking up with amnesia he doesn’t even know who he is or why he’s there, but he still has the skill and cunning to stay alive and work things out. He may not have many cool spy gadgets but it’s not like he needs them, he’s an expert at using everyday objects in unusual ways and he can turn pretty much anything into a weapon!

An Important Source of Entertainment – Music

Sex

Not sure what’s happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Like Someone In Love gets. Like Someone In Love put simply is one of Art Blakey’s best CDs to date.

These days, music systems come with a variety of features and enhancements and are well equipped with proper bass, vibe and treble. They have a better sonic resolution. One can arrange their music tracks in their order of preference while listening. One can also take it as a disc jockey when arranging for a party. The karaoke is another important feature introduced in these systems. This feature shows a listener, lyrics of the song being played which increases the interest of a listener even more. Moreover, a listener can sing the song along with the same beats and rhythm.

Jazz music fans will recognize some of the well known guests that have been assembled to play along with Blakey on several of the tracks. Artists like Afred Lion and Rudy Van Gelder just to name a couple.

The critic would then go on and on, about this, that, and the other thing, and all that is equal to some crazy notion that therefore the producers, writers, and performers of such music were unfit and unqualified to play in New York City. Of course, anybody who loves music and was viewing the performance or reading the critic’s review was thinking to themselves; “What?”

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Like Someone In Love. This is a great track!
